Here is the new park on Pier A in south Hoboken. This is
just the beginning in Hoboken. Their waterfront plan calls for a continuous walkway along
their entire shore. This is the result of 9 years of grass roots community activism.
Originally the Port Authority planned a 30-story office tower right where the water
fountain is pictured. Without citizen involvement, this park would have remained
just a dream.
Weehawken has the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring an extraordinary walkway to our
township's waterfront. Tell Weehawken Mayor Richard Turner
what you want for the waterfront. The time is now! Unless you speak up, the waterfront
will look like Shelter Bay and access to the water's edge may
be denied.
